Carving for a Cause Charity Pumpkin Patch

Personal Euphoria is hosting the third Carving for a Cause Charity Pumpkin Patch

Carving for a Cause Charity Pumpkin Patch was designed to highlight our local creativity, bring joy to our community, and raise money for a local charity. Personal Euphoria began sponsoring this event when, in the midst of COVID, we all needed a little glimmer of joy. Due to its popularity, we are continuing the event.

This year will have 3 winners.

All are welcome to participate by dropping off a carved pumpkin at 400 Hartford Ave, Wethersfield, CT on Saturday or Sunday, October 21 or 22, 2023. Please submit name/email/phone number/picture of your pumpkin to PEPumpkins@gmail.com to officially register your pumpkin. Please write your name on the back of your pumpkin with a sharpie. Place your pumpkin as close to the garage as possible. Note: any carvings deemed offensive will not be displayed.

Others can join the fun by voting throughout the week. Simply click this link to vote. One vote per person. Votes will be collected through Halloween night at 10 pm and then tallied. Personal Euphoria […]

Shed Light on COVID Positives

Each New Year Matt and I take a long walk where we review the prior year and pin expectations, hopes, and dreams on the coming one.  What struck me as I ended 2020 feeling exhausted and a bit deflated was how much joy filled our year was we started reminiscing.  That joy lingered well into the COVID months. It was good to shed light on the COVID positives.

Canada Shed Light

We opened the year on an adventure in Canada to freeze our hair.  The weather worked against us. Canada had a random warm spell bringing the temps hovering around freezing, but not the negative temps required to freeze our hair until we looked like abominable snow people. Instead the weather provided one of the best shows I’ve ever seen.  The Aurora Borealis danced green and slightly purple in the sky.  I was in awe and wonder of the world—a state I often find myself.

Birthday in COVID

My birthday came first in my family in COVID-land.  Since Broadway was shuttered and I couldn’t see Hamilton my family acted out a duel in my front yard.  I was grateful for every Broadway show I’d […]

Pirate and a Scarlet Macaw, well, maybe. Pirate and a Scarlet Macaw, well, maybe.

I’d only left three days to plan my Halloween costume this year.  So on a whim I decided Matt could be a pirate—a costume we basically had—and I could be a parrot.  In my mind I was going to be a beautiful parrot, red like a scarlet macaw.  I hunted on Pinterest for easy ways to transform myself into the spectacular bird.

Then I placed an order on amazon for red, orange, yellow and aqua boas (these would be my wings and feathers); a red bird mask and beak (the don’t sell parrot beaks); a rainbow-colored feather wig and a red unitard.  I had my doubts about the unitard as any sane person should, but I figured I could pull it off with everything else for one night.

All the costume parts arrived the day of the party with little time for adjustments.  I attempted to get myself into the unitard, and I can’t quite express how bad it was.  It was tight, shiny and somehow didn’t fit anywhere.  Important parts couldn’t fit in it, my back didn’t even make […]
