Move More

Just me trying to get my feet behind my head and stay relaxed at the same time.

I love to move. I’m always looking for ways to move more throughout the day.  This month on a whim I’ve been doing an Instagram challenge to try a different, assigned yoga pose every day.  Some of the moves feel great.  Other days I look at the way I’m supposed to contort myself and I just laugh.  I haven’t been able to get my feet behind my head since I was six months old.

Most days I play with movement.  I have some monkey bars and I experiment with what I can do with them.  I try to feel what my clients say they feel on certain exercises.  While taking a walk, I check to see if my butt is involved in each step.  When I breathe, I experiment with where I can send my breath.  When watching television, I roll around on Yoga Tune Up balls.  Movement is a game for me.  Discovering what, where and when can I fit movement into my day makes me happy.  I enjoy the challenge.

To some degree this is easier for me.  I still need to prioritize my workouts, but I make a living moving, so it’s on my mind almost every minute of every day.  Most people have their jobs and families at their attention.  So if you need a little help remembering to make time for movement, our 30-day challenge might be right up your alley.

Join PEEPs In Motion (that’s Personal Euphoria and Evolution Pilates united) for our second 30-Day Movement Challenge. Throughout the month of October, we will guide you on a movement journey.  That’s right.  Each day you’ll get new moves that will culminate into twenty-minute workouts.  We’ll be your partner, motivating you to stay on track, learn new moves, and execute them even better.  At the end of the program, you’ll have tips to continue on your own, and those 20-minute videos will be yours to play with forever. You’ll experience 30-days of Mindful Movement that will last a lifetime.  Together, we’ll explore different types of movement and challenge you to think about how your body moves differently.

What you’ll get with the challenge:

– Eight 20-minute workouts on Pilates, Strength, Stretch, and Fascia (say what?!)
– Daily Move of the Day

-Daily Email to Remind You to Move

-Movement Calendar

-Interactive Worksheets
– Challenge Guide with exploratory questions to get you thinking about movement differently
– Private Facebook Group for camaraderie, feedback and advice

This program is being offered through Berlin Park and Rec, Wethersfield Adult Ed, Rocky Hill Park and Recreation if you live in those towns or through us if you don’t. If you’d like to register through Personal Euphoria just email Maggie.

This challenge is ideal for goal setting.  It’s great for people returning to exercise and people who want to start an exercise program for the first time.  If you’re a regular participant in one of our classes it will help hone your skills and give you some programming for cold days at home.  If you’ve been fascinated every time Cate or Maggie mention fascia in class, the two fascia workouts should be the entire draw you need.   Have fun moving!

Note: the format of this challenge is all online.  We send daily emails and YouTube videos.

To join the challenge that starts October 1, 2017 click this link.  The cost is $38 per person.

Thank you for giving your time to stop and read my blog. I hope it encourages you to keep moving. Move and the body will be happier. And when you're moving you can hike, run, swim in Jell-O, race over non-Newtonian fluids, travel the world or build igloos--if that's your thing. If not, you can watch me do it. This is just a spot to try and feel good about life.
