Almost every time I spend time with my Grandma lately I’m surprised by her agility. At 86 she gets down on the floor with ease. She might need a little help (meaning she uses her arms) getting up from the floor, but doesn’t always. Over the holidays I caught her reading sitting up in a chair with one foot on the floor and the other leg up, higher than shoulder height, resting on the back of another chair.
She inspires me to keep moving. She attributes her healthy moves to walking, which she doesn’t do any more. For years she walked three miles a day, no matter the weather. And I know she is really interested in nutrition. She has a sweet tooth that she passed down to me, but she also cooks healthy, well balanced meals. Point is, she eats well, but also indulges.
