Gratitude

Every year I like to pause for a moment and reflect on what I’m thankful for.  This year I have so much to smile about and appreciate.  I’m filled with gratitude.

Family

My family is always there for me and we have fun together. Family always make this list, but this year we gained two new nephews.  They are already adored!  When I’m stressed, I ask my sister and sister-in-law to text me a picture of one of those treasures, and it brings a smile to my face.  Matt is a wonderful travel partner who is always up for an adventure.  He always makes the grateful list, too.  The team at Personal Euphoria provides great classes to our all our clients.  We have a wonderful group of instructors, but we have a few behind the scenes people that do billing, organize all our mailings, and help me understand social media.  Each person plays a role in us bringing the best to our classes.

Clients

Our clients show up week after week.  They pick us to trust with their bodies. I’m ever grateful for that, because I know how important a healthy, functional body is to a quality life.  I know showing up is not always easy.  It means the world to me that some of you have been taking our classes for over a decade.

Movement

I am grateful for my ability to move with ease.  One day this year without being able to put weight on my right foot, reminded me how much my body enables me to do each day.  When it’s not functioning, I can’t do all the things I love.  The life I have is filled with great adventures and wonderful people because I can move around and enjoy it all.  When I don’t feel like getting out of bed early for a workout, I sometimes roll over and rest, however, more often than not, I remind myself that there are people in this world who can’t get up and move, but would love the opportunity.  That is typically enough for me to toss the covers off on a chilly morning.

The Book

The people in my life, are without a doubt what makes my life so grand.  But in addition, this year, I’m also grateful for Keep Moving: Take Steps to Relieve Pain & Improve Your Life.  I’m proud I did it.  I think it can help people feel better.  I was humbled by the support from friends, clients, and family (including distant relatives).  This was something I’d been working on for years and dreaming of for longer, so I’m thrilled to have it out in the world.

I’d truly love to hear your lists of what makes you grateful in 2018 if you’d like to share in the comments.

Thank you for giving your time to stop and read my blog. I hope it encourages you to keep moving. Move and the body will be happier. And when you're moving you can hike, run, swim in Jell-O, race over non-Newtonian fluids, travel the world or build igloos--if that's your thing. If not, you can watch me do it. This is just a spot to try and feel good about life.

Thank you for this beautiful reminder. I’d have to say if I had to pick one thing I’m most grateful for this year it would be that Anthony quit smoking in March. Secondly – since I don’t just have to pick one thing would be my mother who has been a lifelong friend. Luckily, I’m blessed with many family members who are also good friends and a solid support. Also my friendships are honest and real and fun. Sounds like “friends” are a true constant for me. I have good health and am lucky enough to Keep Moving.
