It’s funny, I really do believe that exercise provides me mental sanity, but then there are some things that just drive me bonkers, so much so that I wonder why I do it. Take swimming for instance. I’m in the water; getting wet is inevitable, but I hate when I get splashed by other swimmers. It really annoys me. On the wrong day, it can ruin my whole workout.

What is wrong with me? I’m in a pool. I’m already wet. Why does it bother me so much? I have no idea. I can laugh at it now, but I can’t laugh at it when I’m in the pool. There is one guy who I have secretly nicknamed “The Splasher.” I’m not entirely sure how he physically splashes so much. I like to assume that if people splash that much that I would have no trouble beating them if we were Olympic competitors. That thought helps a little.

Splashers in the pool and people who ride their bikes on the side walk are really the only two things that annoy me when I’m working out. Otherwise exercise makes me feel great. Do you have any workout pet peeves?
