Juice

Over the weekend after suffering from a Christmas cookie coma, I decide that I needed to try my new Breville juicer that had arrived earlier in the week. Since, we all know I have a hard time drinking vegetables, I decided to start with something on the sweet side.

So my first juice consisted of 8 carrots, 4 celery, 1 beet, some ginger, 1 apple, 1 pear, 2 handfuls of spinach, and 2 turnips. It looked beautiful. It tasted beautiful (although after about 12+ ounces I’d had enough). I did have to run to the bathroom urgently about 15 minutes later, but that isn’t necessarily a bad thing.

What struck me the most was just how beautiful it was. It was a crimson color with hints of orange. It looked like it would make a great Popsicle. I could have put more ginger in it, especially since later that day I was reading about how new research has shown that ginger reduces muscle pain caused by exercise, but I guess it was okay because eating Christmas cookies probably doesn’t count as exercise.

I’m excited to make my next juice. And I want the next one to be a little more green.
