Get Fit Tip Four: Keep A Log

It takes time (which we all know is hard to find), but this may be the year to make time. Keeping a log of what you eat and all your activities can really put things in perspective, especially if you are honest in your log.

You might find trends. Maybe you work out at the beginning of the week and stop toward the end as you get more tired. Learning your trends can help you come up with ways to adjust, but if you never realize your tendencies, it will be more challenging to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Keeping a journal can be made easier. You can make a two column list of what you eat and and all your fitness activities. That is short and sweet. You can also write more extensively and jot down whether your workout was easy or hard. Did you feel a lot of energy on a particular day? How did eating something make you feel?

I once read that people who keep journals about their spouse have healthier more honest relationships. I don’t know if that is true, but, if it is, wouldn’t it reason that if we keep a journal about ourselves we’ll wind up being healthier too?

Thank you for giving your time to stop and read my blog. I hope it encourages you to keep moving. Move and the body will be happier. And when you're moving you can hike, run, swim in Jell-O, race over non-Newtonian fluids, travel the world or build igloos--if that's your thing. If not, you can watch me do it. This is just a spot to try and feel good about life.
