Gift Idea–Time with Friends

Do you have friends or family that you aren’t sure what to get this holiday season? Try arranging time together. Two years ago my best friend and I started exchanging time together instead of presents. We come up with a list of activities to do in Connecticut (or close by) that we can meet and do once a month. We always try to pick things we love doing together or things we’ve never done before, and we try and keep the price around $20, although sometimes the activities are free (like hiking) and sometimes they get more expensive (like a day at the Norwich Inn and Spa).

Not only do be not buy each other something that we don’t really need, we get time together (which we both love and appreciate) and we make fun memories.

Some years we don’t have time to complete all 12 activities, so we just push the two that got rained out onto next years list. Coming up with the list is half the fun. It’s actually a little more fun if you search for activities under $20. There are a lot of neat discoveries to be had in Connecticut.

Some of our previous activities have included:

CT Wine tour (over $20)
Hiking at a new location (free)
Dinner and a movie ($25)
Butterfly Conservatory in MA ($8)
Tubing the Farmington River ($20)
Bleacher Tickets at Fenway ($25)

This list goes on and on and you can be as creative as you want and pick whatever you and your loved one are interested in!

Thank you for giving your time to stop and read my blog. I hope it encourages you to keep moving. Move and the body will be happier. And when you're moving you can hike, run, swim in Jell-O, race over non-Newtonian fluids, travel the world or build igloos--if that's your thing. If not, you can watch me do it. This is just a spot to try and feel good about life.
