Today is supposed to be one of those perfect days–75 degrees, not too humid. You couldn’t ask for a better day. So why not get outside and enjoy it. During a lunch break or even a 15 minute break take a stroll. If you didn’t bring your walking sneakers it doesn’t have to be fast paced, but getting outside will get you moving and revitalize you.
Bring a colleague and you’ll be helping someone else stay healthy too. Or if you have a meeting scheduled, perhaps you can suggest a walking meeting instead of a lunch meeting. Obviously, this depends on how serious a meeting you’ll be having.
While you’re walking keep the core engaged. You’ll get more out of the walk. It doesn’t have to be a long walk, any type of fitness you add to your life that you aren’t used to is good for you. And if you think you can make it a regular thing, keep a pair of walking shoes at work. Chances are you’ll be more likely to take those first steps with a work-buddy, so try and find a regular partner.
Either way your body will enjoy moving a little especially if your job has you sit or stand in roughly the same position all day long.
